Astypalaia’s easy swim below Chora
Livadi is useful precisely because it is simple. The bay is close to Chora, has food and beach facilities nearby and works for a swim without turning the day into an island crossing.
Walk or use a short transfer when possible, since parking pressure rises in high summer. Tamarisk shade is limited and should not be monopolised with unattended belongings. Watch the afternoon wind, follow marked swimming areas and save the remote-beach drive for another day. Livadi’s view toward Chora is particularly good as the light softens.
