Agios Kirykos climbs from a compact harbour in tiers of houses and steep streets. It serves as Ikaria's administrative centre, with an archaeological museum and a waterfront shaped more by residents and ferries than tourism.
Therma's mineral springs lie just east, continuing a bathing tradition known since antiquity. Roads lead towards Faros beaches, Drakano fortress and the high interior, giving the town a practical eastern base.
