Parga combines a Venetian castle, layered waterfront houses and beach access by foot or boat along the green coast of Epirus.
Parga rises around a small harbour below a Venetian castle, its lanes climbing between colourful houses and sea views. Across the bay, the islet of Panagia and the long curve of Valtos create a compact, highly photogenic coastal setting.
Boats reach Lichnos, Sarakiniko and the Acheron coast, while inland trips lead to the river springs and villages of Souli. Parga is busy in summer, but early castle walks and shoulder-season stays reveal more of its working-town character.
Practical information
Parga has no train station or airport; buses and road transfers connect from Preveza and Ioannina. Use boats for beaches to avoid parking pressure.
