9 Queens Spa Hotel

A friendly four-star spa hotel with its own thermal source, indoor and outdoor hydrotherapy pools, generous sea-view rooms and a more approachable scale than Edipsos’s grand spa.

Our take

A small, accessible thermal hotel above the Edipsos springs

9 Queens offers the substance of an Edipsos thermal stay without the formality or price of the town’s landmark resort. Four generations of the same family have worked with the local springs, and the hotel now feeds both its indoor hydrotherapy pool and outdoor pool from its own source. The water is replaced daily rather than treated like a conventional swimming pool. Rooms are notably spacious, most balconies look towards the North Euboean Gulf, and breakfast brings together homemade preserves, fresh juice and products from small local producers. Proper lifts, wide circulation and equipment for entering the pools make this one of the town’s more considered choices for guests with limited mobility.

This is a wellness hotel rather than a beach holiday resort. The free outdoor thermal cascades are a short walk away, but Treis Moloi beach is considerably farther and the property is set uphill from the waterfront. Pool temperatures and mineral water are not suitable for every medical condition, so guests should seek advice where relevant; massages, treatments and some spa use may also need appointments or separate payment. The décor is comfortable rather than cutting-edge, and there is a bar and light food rather than a destination restaurant. 9 Queens is Edipsos’s best small thermal-spa alternative for travellers who value personal care, accessibility and genuine mineral-water facilities.
