Arta’s practical full-service hotel for pools and families
Arta Palace fills a category that no central hotel in the city attempts. Five kilometres south of Arta on the Agrinio road, it has 85 rooms, three suites, substantial grounds and the sort of facilities that make a summer stop easier with children: a seasonal outdoor pool, separate children’s pool, loungers, pool bars and plentiful free parking. A 24-hour reception, lift, restaurant, bar, meeting rooms and room service give it the flexibility to handle late arrivals, groups and business travellers as well as families. Sound-insulated rooms include refrigerators and free cots, while suites provide useful extra space. Drivers can reach Arta’s bridge, castle and Byzantine churches quickly, then return without navigating the narrow streets around the centre.
This is a road hotel rather than an atmospheric city base. Nothing useful is within a pleasant evening stroll, a car is essential, and the restaurant’s opening should be confirmed because past guests have occasionally found dinner unavailable. The outdoor pools operate only in summer, generally from June to September, and events can make the public areas busier than expected. Some rooms and fittings show their age, and service consistency does not always match the four-star positioning. Expedia rates Arta Palace 7.4 from 16 reviews, well below the two smaller recommendations here. It is included because it remains the city’s only Expedia-bookable category leader for a full-service family stay with pools—not because it is the strongest hotel overall. Choose it for those facilities, not for central atmosphere or boutique polish.
