Dexamenes Seaside Hotel

A singular industrial conversion where former winery tanks become minimalist beachfront rooms, pairing architectural clarity with a long, sandy Ionian shore.

Our take

Wine tanks transformed on Kourouta Beach

Dexamenes reuses an abandoned 1920s winery directly behind Kourouta Beach. Two rows of concrete wine tanks have become quiet, pared-back rooms, their industrial shells preserved and cut open towards private terraces, reeds and the sea. The result feels specific to the site rather than styled after a generic Greek summer.

Rooms are intentionally simple and the strongest moments happen outside: breakfast beneath the canopy, wine tasting, sunset on the sand and cultural events in the old production spaces. Ancient Olympia is within excursion range, as are the ports and landscapes of Elis. Dexamenes suits architecture lovers, couples and slow travellers who value ideas, local wine and direct beach life over conventional resort amenities.
