Gallery Art Hotel

A distinctive 25-room hotel beside the intercity bus station, with spacious art-led rooms, a good Greek brasserie, free parking and practical family options.

Our take

Trikala’s dependable design-value hotel for drivers

Gallery Art Hotel offers more personality than its practical location initially promises. Twenty-five rooms use oversized murals, strong colour and individually chosen furniture, while Frette linen, soundproofing and generous floor plans make the substance better than a superficial “art hotel” label. Doubles, triples and connecting rooms accommodate families clearly, and the lift, playground and babysitting on request add useful support. Pinakas brasserie serves Greek food at lunch and dinner, with a café for lighter stops, so an overnight does not require another drive. The hotel shares the Rizario transport complex beside Trikala’s intercity bus station, an advantage for onward connections, and provides free extended parking plus an electric-car charger for road travellers.

The location is the compromise. Trikala’s central bridge and old quarter are roughly three kilometres away, and the busy approach road lacks a comfortable continuous pavement; walking into town is possible only by an indirect route and is not the sensible default at night. The transport setting feels commercial rather than romantic, events in the large function hall can add activity, and there is no pool, gym or spa. Breakfast costs extra on some Expedia rates, reception lists an evening check-in limit, and rollaway beds are not available, so families need the correct fixed-bed room. Expedia rates Gallery Art 9.0 from 111 reviews, an unusually substantial record for the price. It is Trikala’s category leader for design-conscious value, parking and transit convenience; stay centrally if riverfront evenings are the priority.
