Garden-led cooking by the sea on Patmos
Benetos has occupied its quiet inlet outside Skala since 1997. Chef-owner Benetos Matthaiou combines a Patmian upbringing with experience abroad, using herbs and vegetables from the restaurant garden alongside fish and contemporary Mediterranean ideas.
There are few tables and the setting is part of the meal, so reserve directly rather than relying on a last-minute drive. Ask about daily specials and disclose allergies in advance. Arrange a taxi both ways if the evening includes wine; the narrow island road is not the place for an improvised walk after dark.
