The railway square grows up
Kardamo faces Kalamata's old railway-station square with a polished dining room and a busy pavement terrace. Couples, business lunches and families choose Greek produce worked into steaks, slow-cooked meat, salads and composed plates rather than a fixed list of taverna classics.
Service runs evenings Tuesday to Thursday, lunch through dinner Friday and Saturday, and lunch only on Sunday; Monday stays dark. Book ahead, decline bread or bottled water you do not want and pace the richer meat plates with one salad, since extras can add €5–6 before the main order.
What visitors say
Kardamo rates 4.5 across roughly 1,215 Tripadvisor reviews and carries Travelers' Choice 2025; current diners praise beef and Greek produce while noting active sales of bread and water.
