The small fifteenth-century monastery stands at the edge of Vikos Gorge, reached by a stone path from Monodendri village.
The approach is straightforward but the gorge-edge setting demands care. Stay behind barriers, supervise children and never climb walls for a photograph. Dress modestly and respect worship if the chapel is open. The path can be slippery after rain, while midday crowds constrict narrow sections. Early morning gives the calmest experience and clearest sense of scale.
