Long open sand beside the lagoons of Rodopi
Arogi extends west of Fanari in a nearly straight line of pale sand. Small seasonal settlements and beach bars punctuate an otherwise open coast, so visitors can choose a serviced entrance or walk to a quieter section.
The lagoon landscape is not spare land for parking: use established roads and never cross barriers or vegetation. Wind, heat and a lack of landmarks make long beach walks deceptively demanding. Carry water and note your return access point before leaving the organised area.
