A steep descent to deep water and sea caves
Mouros lies beneath southern Amorgos's bare slopes, with rounded dark pebble and offshore rock overhangs. Confident swimmers explore the cave mouths in calm conditions; the immediate depth and exposed setting make it unsuitable for casual paddling.
The footpath descends sharply from parking and must be climbed in full sun. Carry water, wear proper shoes and keep away from cliff bases. Never enter caves when swell is present or swim alone beyond the main bay.
