Paleokastritsa Beaches

Several small beaches and boat-access bays gathered around a deeply indented coast, where the best choice depends on crowd levels, shade and the day’s sea.

Our take

A chain of coves beneath Corfu’s green northwest hills

Paleokastritsa is a coastal district rather than a single sweep of sand. Roads, paths and local boats link a series of coves below steep green hills, with the monastery above the main bay adding a cultural stop to the beach day. The scenery is concentrated, but so are summer coaches and excursion boats.

Start early, choose one land-access beach as a base and treat a small-boat outing as optional. Confirm the boat’s route, capacity, shade and lifejackets before leaving. Water can feel cooler here than on shallower Corfu beaches, and wake around landing points needs attention. Parking rules and monastery dress requirements should be respected.
