Sunset sand and dunes on Elafonisos's west coast
Panagia Beach stretches along Kato Nisi on the western side of Elafonisos. Pale sand, low dunes and views toward the islets offshore create a more open setting than the island's famous twin bays at Simos, especially outside the central organised area.
The west-facing coast receives afternoon wind and can develop waves. Keep vehicles off dunes, use established paths and leave marked vegetation undisturbed. Services thin rapidly away from the main access, so carry water and arrange island transport before waiting for sunset.
