A dramatic Paliki bay built for sunset
Petani cuts into the west coast of the Paliki peninsula beneath steep limestone slopes. Fine white pebble brightens the water, and tavernas at beach level make the bay suitable for staying through sunset.
The descent road is paved but tight, and parking is limited. Waves can break hard onto the steep pebble shore during westerly weather, so judge conditions before entering rather than relying on water colour. Keep clear of the cliff base after rain or visible rockfall.
