Schinias Beach

Schinias combines a broad sandy beach, shallow water and rare coastal pine forest, with lively concessions at Karavi and quieter stretches farther east.

Our take

A long pine-backed shore beside Schinias National Park

Schinias runs along the edge of the national park rather than a conventional resort. The western Karavi section is organised and sociable; farther east, the beach feels increasingly natural beneath umbrella pines. Sand and a gradual entry make the coast popular with families, while steady breezes also attract windsurfers.

Treat the forest and wetland as protected landscape, not overflow parking. Use established access points, remove rubbish and obey fire restrictions. The long shoreline means conditions and supervision differ by section, so choose deliberately rather than assuming every facility extends across the beach.
