A spacious family beach just north of Gythio
Selinitsa begins roughly a kilometre north of Gythio and continues along an open sandy coast. Its length and multiple access points make it practical for families who want road convenience without the denser hospitality strip found around Mavrovouni.
Services vary sharply by section, so confirm what is open before leaving the car. Like other Laconian sands, the beach can host loggerhead turtle nests; keep away from markers and remove equipment at dusk. Northeasterly weather brings waves to the otherwise straightforward sandy entry.
