Our take

Tiganakia is Arki's celebrated chain of shallow turquoise coves, reached on foot from the harbour across an exposed island landscape.

The water and pale seabed create extraordinary colour, but Tiganakia remains an unorganised shore rather than a managed beach. Walk with sturdy sandals, water and shade, then choose a safe entry away from rocks. There is no dependable lifeguard, toilet or food service. Boat traffic increases in summer, so swimmers should remain visible and close to shore.
