Arachova is a lively stone town near Delphi, known for ski-season energy, woven textiles, formaela cheese and views across the Corinthian Gulf.
Arachova climbs steeply along the southern slopes of Mount Parnassos, with stone houses, steps and the clock tower of Ora overlooking the valley. It is Greece's best-known winter resort base, drawing crowds to nearby ski centres and a polished restaurant and bar scene.
Local identity runs deeper than skiing. Formaela cheese, woven textiles and the spring festival of Agios Georgios reflect pastoral and craft traditions. Delphi is close, but Arachova is worth treating as a mountain town rather than only a place to sleep.
