Spetses Town links the busy port of Dapia with mansion-lined coastal roads, historic museums, boatyards and a sociable dining scene.
Dapia opens onto a broad square and waterfront where ferries, café tables and horse carriages meet. Inland, the Bouboulina Museum and Spetses Museum tell the story of a wealthy maritime community and its role in independence. The architecture remains one of the town's strongest pleasures.
A long seafront walk leads past Agios Mamas beach to the Old Harbour, where traditional boatbuilding survives beside restaurants and bars. The route is especially rewarding in the early evening, when day traffic falls away and the harbour lights come on.
Practical information
The centre is largely car-free, though scooters and service vehicles operate. Most sights are walkable; water taxis and buses leave from Dapia for beaches around the island.
