A compact contemporary hotel near Volos port and railway station, with exceptionally helpful service, free parking and breakfast high above the city.

Our take

Smart rooftop living for the ferry, station and city

1910 Lifestyle Hotel is particularly good at the short Volos stay. It sits by the town hall, around seven minutes on foot from both the railway station and ferry port, so an overnight before the Sporades does not become a logistical exercise. Rooms are modern and carefully equipped, with excellent beds, pillow menus and balconies; city-view doubles keep the price sensible, while sea-view rooms and the larger suite add a sense of occasion. Cooked-to-order breakfast is served at City Canvas on the roof, where the port and Pelion make a much better backdrop than a ground-floor buffet room. Free parking opposite the entrance is another meaningful advantage in the centre.

The hotel’s urban position brings compromises. It stands near a busy junction, and street-facing rooms can hear traffic; request a quieter orientation if sleep matters more than the view. There is no pool, spa or broad resort garden, and even the largest suite is designed for a city break rather than a week of family living. Parking is valuable but limited, so drivers should confirm a space rather than arrive assuming one. The restaurant’s rooftop setting is a strength, though opening patterns can vary outside peak periods. For ferry passengers, business travellers and couples who want the promenade, shops and tsipouradika on foot, 1910 is Volos’s strongest boutique city hotel and one of its most consistently praised service experiences.
