A garden retreat above Afitos’s stone lanes
Achtis occupies one of Afitos’s higher points, a few minutes’ walk from the old village. Its greatest asset is not a single sea view but the garden: palms, water, shaded corners and a generous pool create an unexpectedly secluded setting around the 35 individually decorated rooms. The restaurant and warm, hands-on style of service make it easy to spend an unplanned evening at the hotel.
The centre of Afitos is close enough for dinner on foot, while the beach is considerably lower and about 700 metres away. That steep return matters in summer; guests with limited mobility or small children should plan on driving or using a taxi for beach days.
