An easy beachfront stay on Lithi’s sheltered bay
Almiriki sits on the waterfront at Lithi, a fishing village on Chios’s west coast where the broad sandy bay is calmer and shallower than many of the island’s pebble beaches. Rooms and apartments are contemporary and unfussy, with balconies and configurations that work for couples or families. The beach and tavernas require almost no logistics, which is especially welcome after a day driving between mastic villages.
Chios Town and the main port are about 23 kilometres away across the island, so this is not a convenient choice for a dawn ferry or a car-free city break. It is instead an excellent western base for travellers who want swimming built into every day and plan to explore by car. Ask carefully about room orientation; village, street and sea outlooks create quite different stays despite the property’s compact footprint.
