Konitsa’s best full-service family stay by the Aoos
Gefyri earns its name through location: the stone arch of Konitsa Bridge is two minutes away and the Aoos Gorge trail begins almost outside the garden. Renovated rooms start at a comfortable 22 square metres; doubles and superior rooms use sofa beds for a third guest, while the family room and 40-square-metre river-view maisonette provide fixed options for four. Thimeli, the all-day restaurant facing the river, makes the property unusually self-contained and remains useful after a long hike, while the library, pet-friendly policy, bicycle hire and in-room massage arrangements broaden its appeal beyond summer.
Gefyri sits in lower Konitsa, not beside the upper town’s square, and the return on foot is uphill. The pool operates only from May to September, the building has no lift, and family occupancy differs by category—some rooms depend on sofa beds while the maisonette has proper singles. Despite broad accessibility work around entrances, parking, pool and restaurant, upper bedrooms may not suit every mobility need. The restaurant and outdoor spaces can be lively with local visitors or events, which is part of the atmosphere but not complete seclusion.
