A tiny, personal base away from the bustle
Neos Matala is a small seasonal hotel about five hundred metres from the bay. Its rooms, bungalows, garden and pool have the unforced feel of an older Mediterranean guesthouse, and the owners’ direct involvement gives the stay much of its character.
Facilities are simple and the walk back from town is part of the arrangement. In return, evenings are quieter and service is personal. It is a good-value choice for independent travellers who plan to spend days at the beach or exploring southern Crete.
