Bungalows, sculpture and private coves
Minos Beach has occupied its rocky peninsula since the 1960s, with white bungalows and villas following the water rather than gathering around a single block. Sculptures by Greek and international artists appear throughout the grounds, turning a walk to breakfast into an informal gallery visit.
Many rooms sit steps from the sea and selected villas have private pools. Agios Nikolaos is close enough for dinner, while the peninsula remains calm on return. This is an excellent fit for travellers drawn to art, swimming and established gardens more than the machinery of a large resort.
