Nikon Boutique Hotel

A warm 24-room hotel for guests aged 16 and over, with a quiet pool, local Greek breakfast and private-pool options within walking distance of Kalamaki beach.

Our take

A small grown-up base between Kalamaki beach and village life

Nikon Boutique Hotel brings a more attainable, human scale to an island known for grand villas and sprawling resorts. Its 24 rooms and suites sit in a green pocket of Kalamaki, about 500 metres from the protected sandy beach and a little outside the resort’s busiest strip. Natural colours keep the rooms calm, every one has a balcony or terrace, and six doubles add a private pool. The main pool rarely feels frantic because guests must be at least 16. Breakfast centres on Greek and local ingredients, while the team’s gracious, personal service is the quality most likely to stay in the memory.

This is not a beachfront hotel, and the walk to the sea or Kalamaki restaurants follows an ordinary resort road rather than a scenic promenade. Entry-level doubles are only 16 to 18 square metres, private pools and outdoor jetted tubs belong to named categories, and the food offering is better suited to breakfast, lunch and light meals than a week of destination dining. Zakynthos Town and the island’s northern coves still call for a car or taxi. Nikon is Zakynthos’s best small 16-plus boutique hotel for couples and friends who want quiet, excellent care and a real pool without paying private-villa prices.
