Ydor Hotel & Spa

A sleek sea-view hotel above Vourkari, with an infinity pool, excellent full spa and destination restaurant a short walk from Gialiskari Beach and harbour dining.

Our take

Kea’s best boutique combination of village, beach and spa

Ydor occupies Kea’s most useful luxury position: high enough above Vourkari for sunset views, yet close enough to walk to the harbour’s restaurants and Gialiskari Beach in a few minutes. Its contemporary rooms and suites all face the sea, with doubles sleeping up to three and larger suites accommodating four; selected Hydra categories add a plunge pool or hot tub. The outdoor infinity pool follows the view, while Cyrene Spa provides an indoor heated pool, hammam and thoughtful treatments based on Greek botanicals. Breakfast is included, and Mizu restaurant’s Japanese-Mediterranean cooking gives guests a credible reason to dine in. A lift, 24-hour reception and quick five-minute drive from the ferry round out a notably complete small hotel.

Ydor is near the beach, not directly on it, and the layered hillside site still involves slopes and steps beyond the lift. Parking around Vourkari is limited and can be difficult in peak season; travellers bringing a car should ask the hotel for current arrangements. Base rooms do not have private water, while plunge pools, hot tubs and terrace sizes depend on the exact Hydra or suite category. The spa’s indoor pool is part of a treatment-led environment rather than a family splash pool, and the polished atmosphere leans naturally towards couples even though larger suites take children. Expedia rates Ydor 9.8 from 41 reviews, Kea’s strongest mature score among full-service boutique spa hotels. It is the island’s best balance of design, wellness, beach access and evenings on foot.
