Games, athletics and Zeus in a working wine landscape
Nemea gives the Peloponnese route breathing room between larger UNESCO sites. Its sanctuary hosted one of the four pan-Hellenic games, and the restored columns of the Temple of Zeus rise above a landscape now better known for vineyards. Allow ninety minutes to two hours across both areas. The vaulted stadium tunnel is a highlight, but access conditions should be confirmed rather than assumed. Pair the site with one pre-booked winery visit and appoint a non-drinking driver. Nemea fits cleanly between Corinth and Nafplio; adding it after a full Mycenae visit makes both feel hurried.
