Connect Ambelakia, Kynosoura and southern Salamis in one measured day rather than chasing isolated pins across the island
Salamis becomes coherent when its sites are connected by geography. Start with the archaeological museum, continue to Ambelakia and the strait, then visit Kynosoura only where public access permits. A longer afternoon can turn south towards Peristeria or Kanakia. The route passes shipyards, naval land, neighbourhoods and forest, so it reveals a working island rather than pretending the Battle of Salamis survives in an untouched seascape.
Use a small car and allow four to six hours. Roads narrow through settlements, scooters appear quickly and parking should never obstruct residents or industrial gates. Download stops in advance, but trust barriers and local signs over a mapping app. Photography and drones can be restricted near naval facilities. Do not drink at lunch if you are driving, and avoid packing the cave, beach and every museum into the same day; heat and distances make a slower loop safer and more informative.
