A remote Andros cove where a river reaches the sea
Achla reveals why Andros does not fit the usual dry-Cyclades shorthand. Water descending from the hills supports plane trees and wetland vegetation behind a clear, sheltered-looking bay. The setting feels remote even though it lies within reach of Chora, and the transition from green river valley to Aegean coast is the real reason to come.
