Athenian Riviera · Beach

Althea Beach

A compact rocky-and-sandy cove south of the denser suburbs, offering clear water and a more natural setting within reach of the coastal road.

Our take

A small cove where the Riviera begins to loosen

Althea marks the transition from urban Riviera to open Attica. Steps descend from the coast road to a small bay whose scale is appealing early in the day and cramped once every parking space and patch of shore is taken.

Bring water, shade and footwear with grip; facilities are limited and the access is not step-free. Park only in a legal, visible place without narrowing the road. The cove can feel protected, but boat wake and changing wind still matter. If it is full, continue south rather than forcing space onto the rocks.

Good to know

Small cove, Limited facilities, Steps, and Clear water
