A small peninsula with a choice of calmer coves
Grammeno sits west of Paleochora where a compact peninsula separates several beaches. One side is broader and sandier, while the smaller coves mix sand and pebble around low rock. The layout lets visitors compare wind and water before choosing a spot.
Tamarisk trees provide valuable but limited shade, and organised sections operate mainly through the warm season. Rock shoes help around the cove edges. Do not park on vegetation or block the narrow access lanes, and keep an eye on children where the seabed changes from sand to submerged rock.
