Paleochora's broad west-facing town beach
Pachia Ammos occupies the western side of Paleochora's narrow peninsula, only a few minutes on foot from the centre. Its broad sandy strip has room for organised sections and independent towels, and the gently shelving entry suits an uncomplicated town-based beach day.
The west-facing shore receives wind and swell more directly than the pebble beach on the eastern side of town. When flags or waves make Pachia Ammos uncomfortable, cross the peninsula and compare conditions before abandoning the day. Natural shade is limited, especially beyond the concessions.
