Nafplio's broad, shallow bay beyond Palamidi
Karathona curves around a broad bay south of Palamidi, about four kilometres from central Nafplio. The beach is far larger than Arvanitia and has a gentler sandy entry, making it the city's most practical choice for families and a full day by the water.
Bars and activities cluster in organised sections while quieter ground remains between them. The coastal walk from Nafplio is attractive but exposed and longer than a casual promenade, so carry water and avoid midday heat. Wind can cross the open bay even when Arvanitia is sheltered.
