Koundouros combines a protected sandy cove, restored stone windmills and full summer service on Kea's southwest coast.
Our take
A sheltered Kea bay of stone mills and organised sand
Koundouros is a polished southwest-facing bay where converted windmills and stone houses overlook a compact sandy beach. The cove is well sheltered from the meltemi, and organised service makes it a dependable family option when northern Kea is windy.
Development and yacht traffic mean this is not a quiet natural shore. Stay inside swimming buoys, confirm lounger terms and arrive before weekend boats and cars fill the bay. Nearby coves offer less service and more room.
