Samothrace's rare sandy beach below rugged slopes
Pachia Ammos forms a golden-sand bay on southern Samothrace, a contrast to the island's predominantly pebble coast. Seasonal seating and a canteen make it the most straightforward conventional beach day on the island.
The final road is winding and services are limited outside peak season. South wind can roughen the bay. Boat trips leave for otherwise inaccessible coasts, but schedules depend entirely on weather.
