A wide sandy arc at the end of Koufonisi's coastal trail
Pori forms a near-perfect sandy arc on Ano Koufonisi's east side. The coastal trail from Chora passes Foinikas, Fanos, Italida and rock pools before reaching it, turning the beach into the natural endpoint of an island walk.
The bay is shallow but open to northerly and easterly weather. Carry water on the trail, avoid the route in extreme heat, and do not enter the nearby sea caves when swell is running. Seasonal road and boat options shorten the return.
