Vathi is a long sandy Sifnos bay with calm water, waterfront tavernas and road access, practical for families and lingering lunches.
Our take
A broad sheltered bay where tavernas meet the sand
Vathi curves around one of southwest Sifnos's best-protected bays. A former pottery and fishing settlement now mixes small hotels and tavernas with a long sandy shore. Parts remain simple, while resort concessions occupy selected sections.
Cars stop behind the village rather than following the waterfront, so expect to carry bags along sandy lanes. The bay is usually calm under the meltemi, but yacht tenders and anchored boats require attention beyond the swimming edge.
