Zaga Beach

Zaga begins under Koroni's castle and continues into a long sandy coast, partly organised and shared seasonally with nesting sea turtles.

Our take

Four kilometres of sand below Koroni Castle

Zaga starts beneath the southern side of Koroni Castle and merges westward with Memi along more than four kilometres of golden sand. The eastern end keeps the castle in view, while longer walks lead past organised zones to open stretches with fewer people.

Loggerhead turtles nest on this coast. Respect cages and signs, flatten sand structures before leaving and remove every chair or toy at night. The beach is exposed to south and west weather, so waves can be substantial even when the nearby town waterfront looks calm.
