Fiskardo was one of the few Kefalonian settlements spared widespread destruction in the 1953 earthquake. Pastel Venetian-era houses still enclose the harbour, giving the village an architectural continuity rare on the island.
Yachts fill the quay in summer and restaurants are correspondingly polished. Short walks reach Foki and Emblisi beaches, while a small Roman cemetery adds historical context beyond the waterfront.
Practical information
Fiskardo is a long drive from Argostoli on winding roads. Parking fills early; reserve restaurants and use marked moorings if arriving by boat.
