Kyra Panagia is a largely uninhabited island owned by Mount Athos's Great Lavra monastery, with sheltered bays and protected wildlife habitat.
Also called Pelagos, Kyra Panagia has long supported monastic grazing and agriculture. A small monastery complex overlooks the coast, while Planitis Bay forms one of the Aegean's most secure natural anchorages.
The island lies within the Alonnisos marine park and is important for monk seals and seabirds. Access zones and landing rules exist to protect both wildlife and monastic property.

Visit only with authorised marine-park excursions or permitted vessels. Do not land at the monastery or enter protected coves without explicit approval.
