Why go

Deep green inlets and village harbours in Lefkada's sailing waters.

Meganisi is a small, indented island of Vathy, Spartochori and Katomeri, popular for sheltered anchorages, coastal walking and relaxed tavernas.

Meganisi's northern coast is cut into fjord-like bays that provide excellent shelter for sailing boats. Vathy lines a deep harbour, Spartochori overlooks Porto Spilia and Katomeri remains the inland administrative village.

Roads and paths connect small beaches, olive groves and viewpoints across to Lefkada. The long southern peninsula is wilder and includes the sea cave of Papanikolis, best visited in safe conditions without crowding its interior.

Practical information

Frequent vehicle ferries cross from Nidri to Spartochori or Vathy. Scooters and small cars suit the narrow roads; reserve harbour moorings responsibly.
