Olive-covered hills, limestone caves and elegant small harbours.
Paxos packs Gaios, Loggos and Lakka into a small Ionian island known for old olive groves, clear coves and boat trips to Antipaxos.
Centuries-old olive trees cover Paxos from ridge to shore, crossed by lanes and walking paths between three harbour villages. Gaios is the main port, Loggos feels intimate and Lakka occupies a protected northern bay.
The west coast drops into limestone cliffs and blue caves best visited in calm seas. Antipaxos adds pale beaches and vineyards. Paxos is polished in summer, but walking inland still reveals mills, chapels and agricultural history.
Practical information
Passenger ferries run from Corfu and Igoumenitsa. Buses are limited; small boats need proper licensing and west-coast routes should be cancelled when swell rises.
