Telendos offers a small waterfront settlement, limestone climbing, quiet beaches and sunset views beneath a dramatic mountain ridge.
Telendos was separated from Kalymnos by an earthquake in antiquity, and submerged ruins remain in the channel. Today a single car-free village lines the waterfront opposite Myrties, with paths leading to beaches and early Christian remains.
Climbers come for sectors on the limestone ridge, including demanding multi-pitch routes, while non-climbers enjoy the absence of traffic and easy tavernas by the quay. The western sky gives the island memorable sunsets.
Practical information
Small boats shuttle frequently from Myrties in season. There are no roads or ATMs; climbers need current route information and should avoid unmaintained or closed sectors.
