Trizonia sits a few minutes by boat from Chania on the mainland. Its deep natural harbour supports a marina and a small village, while the absence of cars keeps the waterfront and interior paths unusually calm.
Beaches are modest rather than spectacular, and the island's appeal lies in sailing life, easy swims and unhurried meals. The surrounding mainland coast and Nafpaktos make natural additions.
Practical information
Small passenger boats cross frequently from Chania; vehicles remain on the mainland. There is no ATM and winter services are limited, so bring cash and confirm accommodation.
