Tsagarada is not one compact village but four districts hidden in dense chestnut and plane forest. The enormous plane tree in Agia Paraskevi square is the best-known landmark, while old stone bridges and kalderimi paths connect the settlements.
Roads descend steeply towards Mylopotamos and Fakistra, two of Pelion's most dramatic Aegean beaches. Rain, mist and forest give Tsagarada a lush character far from dry-island Greece.
Practical information
A car is useful but parking at beaches is limited and roads are steep. Check storm damage, wear secure shoes and avoid forest paths in severe weather.
