Sea-view studios above a small Souvala beach
Xanthippi occupies a low hillside at Loutra, just beyond the small port of Souvala. Its 22 renovated studios are simple in the best sense: each has a kitchenette for breakfast or a light meal, while balconies look across the Saronic Gulf. A narrow road separates the hotel from a sheltered cove with sand, rocks and a short pier, so an early swim requires almost no planning.
The setting rewards travellers who prefer a village rhythm to the busier harbour at Aegina Town. Souvala’s tavernas and everyday shops are close, and the hotel’s own café-restaurant is useful when nobody wants to drive. A car makes the Temple of Aphaia, Agios Nektarios and the island’s south much easier to combine, although buses and taxis can cover a modest itinerary. Choose Xanthippi for space, independence and water views rather than resort facilities; the kitchenette and beach access make it particularly practical for families and longer stays.
