The square keeps the menu tight
Spaka sets a small run of tables on Areopoli's main square, close to the stone towers but without the scale of its busier neighbours. Couples and light-lunch diners choose a concise list of moussaka, local meat, salads and seasonal plates made from better ingredients than the setting first suggests.
The limited list can sell through, and the square swings from nearly empty to crowded around tour arrivals. Ask what remains before ordering, take the shaded row at lunch and do not expect a long wine programme; reserve only for weekend evenings or a larger party.
What visitors say
Spaka rates 4.4 from about 139 Tripadvisor reviews; 2026 diners repeatedly support the ingredients and concise menu, while lower-traffic periods can leave the room conspicuously quiet.
