A tiny natural harbour with a working past
Damouchari occupies a rare natural shelter on Pelion's exposed east coast. The small harbour once supported customs activity, warehouses and local trade, and those stone buildings still give the bay more substance than a scenic photo stop. A second cove sits across the low headland, while old paths connect the settlement with Tsagarada, Mouresi and Papa Nero.
Space is genuinely limited. The final road, parking and waterfront can become congested in summer, so walk in from nearby accommodation or arrive early. Keep clear of working boats and private moorings, and do not assume the harbour is always suitable for swimming. The cobbles and uneven paths are difficult for reduced mobility. A meal beside the water or a section of the kalderimi makes a better visit than circling for a parking place at noon.
